Hi guys and gals.  Another newbie here.  I belong to a number of photography and music forums (rock music being my great love after photgraphy) but do tend to lurk quite a bit rather than get engaged in small talk.  Not that there's anything wrong with that - I love reading it but I'm just not very good at it.

However, don't confuse my lack of input with lack of interest.  I do spend a lot of time reading through the threads (more than I should, really  Grin) and I will jump in where I feel I can make a positive contribution to the discussion.

Welcome Marty, play any instrument?
No, unfortunately I have no musical ability whatsoever - I can't sing and I can't play anything.  However, I love going to gigs, have a lot of friends in the music business and I do a lot of concert photography.

Hi guys,

Just got the mail from Colin, encouraging involvement.  So Hello everybody from Co.Limerick Ireland.

Now while I am here, I need some help. I don't know if this is the correct area to post but I am sure I will be advised fi there is a more appropriate place.

I am booked to photograph a secondary school graduation function in July and they want of group shot of about 86 girls.  I feel large group shots are a waste but thats what they want.

Please advise me on how best to execute it.

Hi everybody,
So just a quick HI to all.
Completely newbie at the Forum as well as SWPP.
Already got a exhibition posted on member's exhibition and
put some photos in the Competition ( after a few hipcups, was able to correctly insert the pictures in each category).
My main area is Children & Family Portraiture with primarily natural light, so I work most of the time outside which is good, considering the  famous Scottish weather.
Love what I do, especially working with children.
I will be participating a bit more but the peak season for family & children portraiture just started so I have been pretty busy up here but as soon as possible will get things posted on the forum.
Thank you all for sharing so much here. I am very happy to be part of this community. Also added on my flickr the SWPP group.

Just a quick Hi to all the members who are even newer than me!
Welcome to the forum - it took me a while to figure my way round it (but then I'm a bit dim about blogging, forums, and all that stuff) but I'm finding it's worth the effort. Lots of good stuff to read and some good silly stuff too!  Pete
