How is this affecting you and your business. What the highest price you've seen.
Mines 127.9 diesel.

I charge 40p per mile in travel expenses and have done for as long as I can remember
When does petrol get to be high enough that 40p is no longer acceptable?

I travel about doing car photography a couple of days a week and in the two years I have been doing it I have noticed a big difference in the fuel cost . Time for a pay rise !!!

Two years ago when I bought my 4x4 I could fill the tank for £60.00 and it had to be running on fumes to get that amount in, filled up last week and got £93.00 in it, I'll be filling it up again tommorrow Currently scanning autotrader and visiting Manheims (auction) for a low mile focus size diesel, catch 22 is we still need a 4x4 for private use, so I will have to buy a pickup to replace Jaci's car for our private use but the saving on running a 55mpg car over the 16000 business miles I do compared to the 25-30mpg I get now, even when you add the 2-3000 miles private use in a 25mpg pickup is so huge that I can't afford to ignore it any longer, only good news is the money from this car and jaci's car combined should buy an 07 plate hatchback at auction and an 04 plate truck from a private seller, a tiny silver lining. Filled up in Orkney in April, diesel £1.37 per litre, I guess by the end of the year we can plan on at least £1.50 a litre, I don't think the £2 litre is far away

That's happening already over here, of course we don't have the same legal system protecting the Exchequer from revenue dodging.

You can put at least 50% new veg oil in with your diesel in summer months , I wouldn't on a new car but older ones I would ! old chip fat needs refining before use so don't try it !!
Oh but you have to pay duty on the cooking oil to customs !!

Highest weve seen petrol was 1.21 , the local village garage is charging 1.13 at the moment but they close in July.
Vectra now costs £60 per tank, last year was £43 last year, The blackbird last year was about £14 for a full tank, this year just topping £20

As most people will know, I travel a lot. Approx 1000 miles per week. We also have probably the most expensive fuel on the mainland. I am going to have to start charging extra for travel to cover this now. Diesel here is somewhere around £1.34 per litre, may even be slightly higher now, as I try not to look at the price any more in case I get depressed!!
It's definitely making a difference to my business.

It's rubbish but what ever they charge they know we'll pay it, I'd be lost without my car. as would most people I know, they got us by the balls

Daft thing is, they're telling us to leave the car and use public transport etc..!!! but where we live in Herefordshire, public transport is practically non-existant (was better in the Victorian era) plus they're rubbing salt in the wounds by closing local post offices etc, forcing many folks to drive to the nearest towns.....it makes me so mad!*^&%$"£ I know it's contraversial, but we should abandon our British tolerance and adopt some of the ways of our continental comrades and do something more radical than just moan! philippe

and another thing...my bro in law is working in Shanghai on hydrogen fuelled vehicles. The technology is there, why is our government not tapping into it...Ithink we all know why!

to pay for their second homes and all the trappings that go with it The bus company here have landed a double whammy lately with their fares, they put them up because of fuel duty, then almost doubled them again when council withdrew £100K funding. The result it's almost as cheap to use your car to get into the city centre as it is by bus??? Gareth
