Since ive been getting a lot of queries about the 20x16 today i thought id start a thread for 20x16 FAQs.
If anybody has any questions feel free to add to this thread Smiley  partybeer

Question:
Does the image have to be 20x16?
Answer:
The board has to be 20x16 inclusive of the mount/frame. The image can be any size within that frame.

Question:
Do I need to put an application form on the back of each image?
Answer:
Yes you do, categories and sub categories must be listed on these application forms. We cannot accept images without application forms attached

Question:
How do I work out return postage?
Answer:
Either take a cheque book to the post office and write a cheque equal to the amount you pay to send them OR use our simple return postage guide.

Question:
How much is return postage?
Answer:
Up to 2kg (up to 4 prints)
Standard £5.00  Recorded £7.50
Up to 4kg (up to 8 prints)
Standard £7.50  Recorded £10.00
Up to 6kg (up to 12 prints)
Standard £10.00  Recorded £12.00
Up to 8kg (up to 16 prints)
Standard £12.00  Recorded £15.00
Up to 10kg (up to 20 prints)
Standard £13.00  Recorded £18.00

Question:
How/When will you return my prints to me?
Answer:
Your images will be returned in their original packaging using Royal Mail standard or recorded delivery within 4 weeks of the competition

Question:
How do I mount my image?
Answer:
Use either a frame mount or board back your images

Question:
Where can I get my image mounted?
Answer:
Loxley Colour and One Vision Imaging have a special offer, please check their websites for information

Question:
When will my images be judged?
Answer:
We cannot guarantee what time your images will be judged

Question:
How many images can I enter?
Answer:
As many as you like, there are no rules regarding how many you can submit

Hi Jan, hope you are well Smiley

I haven't seen that thread, I got the impression that it was somehow automatically entered by SWPP. This is a quote from the competition page:

"Gold: Awards will go forward to the annual judging and are deemed to be images of the highest standard and will be published in Professional Imagemaker"

Entry Rules – 2010 / 2011
 
    * All images must be 20x16" (508x406mm) inclusive of the mount.
    * Each image must be mounted
    * Each image must be accompanied by an application form.
    * Entrants must include sub-categories on the application form.
    * Entrant must have captured and created the original exposure.
    * All digital manipulation must have been performed by the entrant.
    * Any images that violate copyright, trademark or any other applicable law will be disqualified.
    * The entrant’s name, or any other distinguishing marks, must not appear on the face of the image.
    * No entry will be eligible that has been made under the supervision of an instructor or as a class       assignment.
    * No image that receives a Merit in the 20x16 annual competition may be entered into the monthly image competition the same year.    
    * No entries of the same subject shall be entered twice.
    * Any entry which has been reproduced from an existing photograph, portrait, graphic or any other artwork produced by another person is a violation of the competition rules and will be disqualified.
    * Entrants agree that any photograph entered may be used by The Societies and or Professional Imagemaker in any of the publications, printed materials, or electronic media. Also the image may be used for promotional use by The Societies, unless otherwise agreed.

Sorry guys was havin dinner, no image that wins a merit in the 20x16 is permitted in the image comp in the same year x

Of course you have, fill in the online Payment form asap (found on the 20x16 page on the website) to secure your entries then get your prints to the societies head office by December 31st

I'm getting confused (not difficult).  I want to take advantage of the Loxley Roes software and uploads and pay for return after etc and there doesn't seem to be an obvious way of saying to them "send the prints to Rhyl or Hammersmith for the 2012 convention judging".  Also do I pay SWPP for this and they issue Loxley or me with a code?  Again I've read the scree and am obviously missing something.  Sorry to sound so dopey.

ps you cant send your images straight to the novotel they must come to head office first
