I just thought I'd say a huge thank you to Jim Chamberlain, whose masterclass on Saturday morning was worth the price of the masterclass ticket on its own. I went there wanting to find something and Jim's class put everything right there on a plate for me. I went home a bit lighter in the pocket and Jim was a bit lighter in the suitcase, as I cleaned him out of his books, CD and gadget thingummy. I hope we see Jim again next year, as his class was truly inspiational to me. Cheers Jim. partybeer

I'll echo that.   But not the books, cd and gadget thingy Grin.
I went to the Friday class.
Inspirational class taught by a gentleman.   Now I just need to take some fantastic images to try out his techniques!

Did you also go to see Len Bateman? Between the two, I came away with everything I wanted to hear on landscape photography. Both men were masters of their profession but approached their subject in different ways. Fascinating.

Yes I did Tom.   Thoroughly enjoyed them both.  Sorry, we didn't have a chat afterwards.   So many people there.

I want to try different things and both of these classes gave me inspiration and motivation to move away from portraits.  It's brilliant that 'masters' such as these two gentlemen are willing to help us on our photographic journey.  (My journey feels more like mountaineering than a leisurely saunter!)

Maybe you weren't at the same Len Bateman class as me. I went there on Saturday afternoon. To be honest, I met hardly anybody there, although I did go around on Friday and Saturday with my avatar on my badge, as promised. I seemed to spend all of my time either in a masterclass, at a tradeshow demo or at the tradeshow itself. The time just flew by. I had to be away to go for dinner at 8.30 both nights, so I didn't really meet many people at all. I remember Matt Neve briefly introducing me to a couple of people, but to be honest I can't remember who they were. My head was somewhere else at the time I think.

Hopefully, I will know the ropes a bit better next year and it won't be so much of a blur!! Roll Eyes

I meant so many people in general.  I attended the Friday class for Jim and Saturday class for Len.   I was in second front row, I think, for Jim and first row right hand side for Len.   Tried to fit in as many classes as possible but now have 'overload'.  Just trying to make sense of my notes so that I can put all that fantastic information to good use.

It was super to meet so many new friends and look forward to meeting up in future.

Did I meet you??? Honestly, I don't have the foggiest recollection. I met the two Matts, because I already knew Matt Neve and he was with Matt Cain. We walked around for half an hour and then I hardly saw them again, despite texting and phoning Matt Neve and vice versa. Were you one of a few people I shook hands with on Friday night? I probably seemed a bit vacant because I was looking for someone and had just rattled somebody's cage who was being an arse (no details required). Sorry if I blanked you (or anyone else! Embarrassed Embarrassed).
