This post is somewhat overdue but I've been playing catch up with work (still playing catch up actually)!

Paul & I really had a great time at the convention in January (seems like such a long time ago already!) and it was lovely to get together with old friends and meet some new people too. Thanks to everyone at HO for putting it all together again this year!

Also wanted to say many thanks to everyone that attended our classes and I hope you all enjoyed them and picked up some useful info. We had an especially lovely crowd at our superclass Smiley Only just gotten around to going through some of the photos taken at our Superclass and thought I'd post a few SOOC shots which I took during our superclass (first three are off-camera flash, the images inside by the vases are natural light and the last couple are video light) and their respective post-processed Photoshopped shots...

Really, really nice images and interesting to see the 'pre' and 'post' shots. Can I be a cheeky chap and ask what filters you use to process your images, or do you not use any filters at all? Excuse my inexperience if this is a stupid question. It wouldn't be my first one. Or my last! Embarrassed

Yes, I'll let you be a cheeky chappy, just this once mind! My processing is primarily using Photoshop's blending modes & layer masks. If you can dig up one of my old articles in Imagemaker from a year or so ago (can't rem. the month but it was the back end of 2009, beg. 2010), it tells you exactly what I do in PS. I don't use any other photographer's actions (other than Kubota's Magic Sharp on some images) but we do use Nik Software (Paul uses it for his HDR and I use one of the filters in Color Efex alot).

Sofie, these are great.  And thanks for sharing the before and afters.  Its great to see your starting point.  I've often wondered if others are starting somewhere different from where I am.

Thanks a lot. I only joined SWPP in September 2010, so I might not have the article, but I'll take a look, as I do have some back issues. Thanks again for sharing.  Smiley

Hi Sofie,

Thanks for posting these images and thanks again for the great superclass.   I enjoyed it very much and more importantly learned loads Grin.   Now - I just need to try and produce stunning images such as yours!

Kindest regards,
Linda

Get the lighting, pose & crop right in camera and you're half way there already Smiley
