Google alerts?

Large companies use google alerts to notify them any time anyone posts about their company or products on any forum.

I have been telephoned TWICE having placed two posts about a certain business on this forum.

Can't name them or I will get another phone call. And it their choice who am I to question it?.....but.....

The question is - justifiable marketing or invasion of privacy?

Careful - big brother is watching -

You should never assume that outsiders can't get into the private parts of any form because they can and do.  Commercial bodies are very interested in what punters say about them.

On a few occasions, I've been staggered just how much "Big Brother" does know about the lives and activities of ordinary folk like me.

My father used to tell me never to say anything over a phone line that I wouldn't write on an open postcard sent through the mail.  Emails should follow the same rule!

Have you ever thought!
The lurker could be Santa Claus?
And you lot have just blown it!
He might have been looking to see if you were good.
You won't get the Canon EOS 1D Mk III............. and do you know why?
Do you know why?
Because you spotted the lurker.

Your fault,
I didn't even notice Santa.

Looking forward to my New Canon in December.
