Looking for slr with lens for my mother in law,  budget around £200-£250

If you watch out on gumtree and the dreaded ebay, you can often pick up 400d with it's kit lens within that budget. I really don't know anything about pricing of similar vintage nikon gear though mate. Give the two sites mentioned a good scouring, you'll come up with something

yeah i have told her to look out for something (preferably nikon as its the best)  Grin Grin  nah not bothered she justs wants an slr

How about the older olympus dslr's? I seem to remember reading good things about them way back when

You can buy a 350D with kit lens or used 50mm F1.8 for under £150. The 350D is still very capable.
