Hi
Since I joined the Society I have been a busy bee so apologies for not getting involved sooner. I will try harder!!

I want to introduce myself.  My name is Caroline and I am based in Hampshire and focus on Events, Portraits and Weddings.  I am loving working again after taking time out to have the kids who are now 3 and 5 and in September they will both be in big school so I will have 6 hours a day to work instead of fitting it all into the evenings and weekends which is how i currently work.

I have spent the last 12 months building my website, business and of course portfolio and have found it challenging at times but always rewarding.  I have taken 2 photography courses which have been crucial to making a good start with my business. I love taking photographs and I strive to improve and improve as there is plenty of room to improve and I am looking forward to joining the mentoring scheme later this year when I have the images to submit and time to put them together.

My strengths coming into the industry are that I was -dare I say - a videographer before having children and have always been a keen photographer.  I have filmed over 100 weddings in the 7 years of filming as well as thousands of tropical fish, but that is another story.  I am great with people especially children now and this helps with all the work I do.  I also have a knack of putting people at ease which helps with the photographs.

I would be very grateful for any feedback on any of my work you see on my site www.curiousworld.co.uk and please do join in my natters on my facebook and blog - www.hampshirephotographers.co.uk

I look forward to sharing time with fellow photographers in this society as our work can so very often be a lonely work as we sit in our darkened rooms editing endless photographs!!!

Thanks

Hiya Caroline

I was wondering when you would come and say hello!!  It is a very friendly place on here and there is so much advice its untrue.  you need never be lonely again (although sometimes its a bit addictive and not conducive to sitting and getting on with your work Smiley )

but you will get out of it what you put into it - I regard a lot of people on here as friends even though I haven't met half of them.  dont feel ashamed of your role as a videographer - again there are lots on here and you have a perfect insight as to what a photographer needs to catch.

have a good nosey round and shout if you need anything!  partybeer

Twenty years from now you'll be disappointed by the things that you didn't do than the ones that you did do.........
