I love mine too. A brilliant lens, so trustworthy, quick and sharp. It's making way for the 1.2.

A buig chunk of glass - Smiley I'd love the 1.2!  But 24-70 is just around the corner I think.

Hi Angie

You'll look back at this as one of the best things you ever bought.

Thanks guys im over the moon to get this lens. In an ideal world i would L lenses all the way but that time will come. suitably impressed with what ive seen an 85 1.8 do and as I will use it on a 50d at times and 5d at times it will be like 2 for the price of one.

Angie I am not sure what you aim to use this lens for, but I certainly wouldn't want to use an 85 F1.2 L on weddings versus the F1.8 as it is way too slow to focus.

I had heard that, so was maybe not going that way on the 85L. But thanks for highligting it again and affirming what I thought I knew.

Angie - I've replied to your email.

All, I would agree, I'm not convinced the 85 1.2 is a 'better' all round lens, and certainly not £1000+ better than the 1.8. I've used the 1.2 extensively over my winter wedding season, and honestly I don't see the focus lag that everyone talks about, but I did use it A LOT between 1.2 and 1.8 which clearly the 1.8 is not capable of.

I am a bit sad to be parting with such a great lens, a true bargain of a lens.
