What I find most amusing about this is that I "invented" this some 10 years ago. Seriously.
The company I worked for (a global IT company) had an inventions scheme and I wrote my idea in. It was essentially that a webcam and a projector only differ in which direction the light is going. I suggested an LED powered projector that could be used by laptop users to project onto office walls to allow for instant sharing of presentations/screen details etc. They could have a webcam and a projector and see and share stuff whether they were in the same room or not.
I would get an inventors bonus and they'd get rights to it (which, as they owned all my thoughts anyway....

).
Anyhow... it was assigned to a "master inventor" who had a chat with me, told me that it couldn't possibly be done because LEDs were not powerful enough and the heat generated would be stupid let alone needing enough power to charge the National Grid. So my invention was rejected.
How hard am I laughing now!!!

(and they probably don't even realise that they could have owned the world-wide patent for it if they'd just bothered)
