What are most of you using as the search criteria... Your photo company name, or your personal name?

That's great if you think potential customers are going to search for you using your personal name.  Roll Eyes
If the SWPP actually wanted to help its members in the google rankings they would give us a proper link on our pages, not a redirect which google doesn't pick up.

Maybe I'm being thick here- still new to Google rankings, but doesn't the "Find A Photographer" section give a proper link? It's only the profiles here that gives a re-direct?

Perhaps the profile should give a proper link- every little bit helps...

Very true, if they are, they know who you are and how to find you anyway. It's if they are searching for a photographer in your arean that's important. To be fair, searching for wedding photographers in Conwy brings the SWPP in at 2nd but for all photographers in the county, but I'm 3rd with another web site, but it doesn't give a link to my web site- I think I need to upgrade and pay for this one if it will include my web site!

As far as I can see, the "Find A Photographer" section only links to the profile pages, unless I'm missing something.

Simaon you shouldn't fork out any money ...yet

I think you should ensure the the title of your home page includes "Wedding Photographer Conwy" if that is your Primary customer catchment area. And that it is the first thing immediatly after <head>

This is because Google gives higher priority to a site with the search statment ie Wedding Photographer Conwy in the URl next highest is any page with the search statment in the title, then follows text and img alt or img title.

another reason for variations is whither all or part of the search in in quotation marks

For my site     Wedding Photographer Ayrshire
puts me on the first page within the Google Maps Group (H)
and my URL on the second page

However        "Wedding Photographer Ayrshire"
Ommits SWPP 1 + 2 and lists me 3rd
