Wear lots of layers if you are out and about. Beware of pickpockets (not the sort produced by jerry ghionis either!)

Hello Bohemia,

Because I am coming from a great distance and I will be in a foreign country, I have been concerned about the possibility of having my pocket picked. It happened to a Hawaiian  friend of mine when he lost his wallet to a thief  in Paris about three years ago. As a precaution I only intend to have only enough funds I think I will need for each day and lock my credit cards, passport and other items of value in my hotel room safe. On top of that, my cash will be in a zippered pouch under my shirt.

As far as clothing, I bought a lot of new clothes that I think should keep me warm such as coats, nice scarfs, a nice  pair of wool lined leather gloves, beanie caps as well as my beret. It is hard to believe I will finally be flying half way around the world exactly a week from tomorrow on my first trip to Europe.
