Spend it this March - save tax this summer @50% cost then 10% next year (20% of 50%)

Spend it in April - no allowance this summer - save tax in 18 months but nothing thereafter

Your saving is at your marginal rate of tax - so the item should still only bought if actually required as a business decision - not a tax decision - or you will just be taking working capital out of the business
